Jim Daly, Mayor of County Cork, presented certificates to the nine local teenagers, the first batch of RYA Sailing Instructors to graduate from the Centre, saying 'It was good to see the local environment used to encourage education and training for young people.

Commenting on their success, Kim said 'They're a fantastic group of youngsters who've worked really hard to achieve their qualification which is internationally recognised.'

All the participants began sailing when the Centre opened in Courtmacsherry in 2005.
